The Parks and Recreation Commission, at the direction of the City Council, has undertaken a survey and assessment of current community services addressing the issues and needs facing local senior citizens. Through this Senior Citizen Needs Assessment, the Commission invited community groups, non-profits and field experts to present on areas of need for senior citizens so that deficiencies could be identified and appropriately addressed.
Through the assessment, the City has identified opportunities for improvement and enhancing resources such as:
- Increasing collaboration between senior-focused community groups and service providers
- Education of seniors on potential scams
- Providing companionship and care
- Offering alternative solutions for technology
- Enhancing accessibility and mobility
- Diversifying the geography of events for seniors
- Establishing avenues for regular collaboration
- Centralizing and distributing information

| LCF Shuttle | The LCF Shuttle is a free shuttle service that operates along Foothill Boulevard in La Cañada Flintridge. The LCF Shuttle is part of the Glendale Beeline Route 3 and runs Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. with service every 15 minutes. There is no service on Sunday or the following holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. You can connect from the LCF Shuttle to other Beeline routes.

| Dial-A-Ride | The City’s Dial-A-Ride program is a free door-to-door transportation service for residents 60 years of age or older, or disabled residents of any age. Dial-A-Ride registration is required.
Dial-A-Ride vehicles will provide transportation within the cities of La Cañada Flintridge, Glendale, and Pasadena (west of Lake Avenue), and in the County unincorporated communities of La Crescenta, Montrose, and Altadena during the following hours:
To register you must complete a Dial-A-Ride application and return it to the Administration Department at City Hall by either mail or fax.
