La Cañada Flintridge, CA – After an increase in bear sightings, the City of La Cañada Flintridge invited the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) along with Pasadena Humane Society and Sheriff’s Department to give an educational presentation on human-bear interactions on Tuesday, October 12 at 6:00 p.m. The presentation was made by Rebecca Barboza, Wildlife Biologist, via Zoom.  Discussion included the following topics:

  • CDFW response to human-bear conflict incidents
  • CDFW bear policies
  • Public safety incidents
  • Prevention of human-bear conflicts and how to respond during an encounter
