La Cañada Flintridge, CA – The City of La Cañada Flintridge, in cooperation with the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station, will be hosting a one-day “Catalytic Converter Etching Event” on Saturday, March 4, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The event is part of a multifaceted strategy to address the uptick in catalytic converter thefts occurring across Los Angeles County. Registered participants will have their vehicle’s catalytic converter etched with their vehicle identification number (VIN). This etching will act both as a theft deterrent and provide valuable information should it be stolen and later recovered by law enforcement personnel during subsequent investigations.

The event will be open to La Canada Flintridge residents and is being provided at no cost. Advanced registration is required. Be sure to sign up as soon as possible as appointments are limited to 80 participants. Registration will open at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2023.
