Due to the success of the “Catalytic Converter Etching Event” held in March 2022, the City of La Cañada Flintridge, in conjunction with the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station, will be hosting another one-day “Catalytic Converter Etching Event” on Saturday, June 18, 2022, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

The event is in response to increased incidents of catalytic converter thefts. It is part of a multifaceted strategy to address the uptick in catalytic converter thefts occurring across Los Angeles County. Registered participants will have their vehicle’s catalytic converter etched with their vehicle identification number (VIN). This etching will act both as a theft deterrent and provide valuable information should it be stolen and later recovered by law enforcement personnel during subsequent investigations.

The event will be open to La Canada Flintridge residents only and is being provided at no cost, but advanced registration is required. Be sure to sign up as soon as possible, as appointments are limited to 40 participants. Registration will open at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2022.
